About Us
Family-owned charters exploring the Mamanuca Islands with local knowledge and genuine hospitality.

Bula Vinaka and welcome to Manu Charters!
Founded by Seta and Brittany Tamanivalu, Manu Charters is a family-owned business offering bespoke boat tours, fishing charters and transfers across the Mamanuca Islands.
Raised in the Yasawas, Seta grew up fishing and living off the land. The ocean isn't just his workplace - it's his heritage. Now a professional rugby player, he's launched Manu Charters to share that knowledge and create authentic Fijian experiences.
Together with Brittany and their team, we focus on personalised, relaxed journeys guided by local knowledge. We believe the best experiences happen when you're not rushed, not crowded, just connected to the water and the islands.
We look forward to welcoming you on board.
The Meaning Behind Manu Charters
Manu Charters is proudly named in honour of Manuqila, a Fijian land tribe from which Co-Director Seta Tamanivalu’s family descends on his father’s side.
Our name reflects more than just identity — it represents heritage, respect for land and sea, and the deep cultural roots that guide how we operate.
In Fiji, vanua (land, people, and connection) is central to who we are. Manu Charters carries this connection forward by:
- Honouring traditional values
- Respecting Fiji’s ocean and reef systems
- Supporting responsible and sustainable marine tourism
- Sharing authentic Fijian hospitality with every guest
Our charters are not just tours — they are experiences grounded in culture, family legacy, and a genuine love for Fiji’s waters.
When you charter with Manu, you are not just booking a boat — you are experiencing Fiji through a family story that spans generations.
Our Vessel - Hamachi
We have proudly named our brand-new vessel Hamachi — a name that carries special meaning for our family.
After living in Japan for six years, we fell in love with the culture, the people, and of course, the food. During our time there, Hamachi became one of our favourite fish to enjoy — the Japanese name for young Yellowtail.
In Japanese, Hamachi refers to the juvenile Yellowtail, symbolising growth, potential, and the beginning of a journey.
As our very first vessel and a major milestone in our family-owned business, the name felt perfect. Hamachi represents a new chapter — the start of something we have worked hard to build — while honouring the unforgettable years we spent in Japan.
By naming our vessel Hamachi, we’ve linked two important parts of our story:
- Our Fijian roots and heritage
- Our life-changing experience living in Japan
Every time we head out to sea, the name serves as a reminder of where we’ve come from and the journey ahead.
Hamachi is more than just a boat — it marks the beginning of our dream becoming reality.
